Hi Heidi:

You're absolutely right about the power and importance of staying positive through this process. If we could be confident that the right job is on its way, it would be easier to pause for a moment "in the now" and really appreciate the independence, flexibility and autonomy to be enjoyed during these between-jobs days. That takes a lot of faith in the future, I know, but still I'm glad that you have the perspective and wisdom to realize that there's gold even in these days of uncertainty. (I'm sure that frame of mind also makes you a much more attractive candidate as well!)

Glad you liked this article. And we hope that you'll keep coming back! Martha

Hello,

Great ideas here and a good place to start if you find yourself holing up in the house all day. Catching up on old friends is something that has definitely started to pay off for me.

I wanted to add that you should try hard not to be a negative nelly when people ask about your job search. Don't look like the desperate salesman when meeting a friend for coffee or lunch. While it stinks money-wise, I'm enjoying setting my own schedule, taking breaks to read articles like this one, taking a day off if I worked at looking the day before diligently, and living in the now.
