As you know my job search was 10 months long and there has been a lot of change in my life, and a few friends fell into the "cull" category (I must confess I had to look "cull" up in the dictionary). It was actually quite a surprise to experience the support of those I hardly knew and the utter lack of concern from people I called friends. Truth is, I'm stronger now because of what I've gone through and as a recruiter, I'm far more compassionate about others who are out of work. Great words from a great writer...thanks Martha!
